The hike, parking, pets

  • Effort: short (often described as ~0.3–0.5 mile). Rocks are slick. Not a stroller walk into the hole.
  • Parking: small trailhead / roadside. It fills on hot afternoons. Do not block gates.
  • Pets: leash. Cold water, drop-offs. Full policy: pet-friendly cabins.
  • Season: summer swim hole; still worth a look in shoulder seasons. Watch flash-flood weather.

More trail color is in our Blue Hole Falls guide. Pair with Watauga Lake if you want a bigger body of water the same trip.
